CONSERVATIVES SCORE SUCCESS IN HARCOURT ROAD

Christchurch's Conservative Councillors have achieved a major success for residents in Harcourt Road following the eviction of M&M Performance Cars from the showroom at the junction with the Broadway. The showroom had been selling cars for over a year in breach of planning conditions.

Local residents contacted Councillor James Spencer with their concerns about road congestion and lack of parking caused by the showroom. Councillor Spencer then worked diligently with Council Officers to resolve the situation through vigorous enforcement action.

Councillor James Spencer said "I am delighted that our persistency has achieved the result that the Harcourt Road residents wanted. The residents were plagued by parking and access issues for some while due to the anti-social activities of this business. I hope that the conditions in the road are much improved from now onwards".

Local resident, Mrs Taylor said "At last this problem has been sorted out. The parking situation in our road has dramatically improved. Thanks to James for all his hard work and effort in dealing with this".
