Rt.Hon Ken Clarke, Shadow Business Secretary and former Conservative Chancellor of the Exchequer was the guest speaker at the Bexleyheath and Crayford Conservatives Spring Supper held at the Bexleyheath Conservative Club on Thursday evening (4/3/10). One hundred Conservative activists were entertained by a witty and informative speech from Mr. Clarke which contained Conservative policies for economic growth as well as anecdotes and amusing stories about his relationship with his government opposite number Lord Mandelson.
Mr. Clarke has over the years been a regular visitor to Bexley Borough as his wifes family comes from Sidcup. Parliamentary Candidate David Evennett introduced Ken Clarke and new Association Chairman Chris Taylor gave the vote of thanks to both Mr. Clarke and Association Deputy Chairman Iris Kempton who organised the event.
